Music is a key component to making our Sunday services come alive.
There are lots of ways to get involved musically at Hillhurst. No matter your skill or experience level, there’s a place in our music ministry for you.
Adult Choir
Open to anyone who would like to sing, the choir practices weekly and offers beautiful choral pieces during Sunday morning worship services, twice a month. Choir rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7pm - 9pm.
Children’s Choir
The Hillhurst United Children’s Choir is an energetic group that loves to gather and sing together. For children in Kindergarten through Grade 5, this group explores various music, from traditional hymns to popular music from the radio and movies (even a little rapping in the Lego Song!). We learn through play and games, focusing on developing healthy singing and music literacy foundations. The choir sings at church services yearly, hosted a Christmas concert and sang at Zoolights. We also had pizza parties, Halloween parties and lots of social time. The group is led by Amanda Massey, a singer and trained early childhood music educator. Pre-School Music Program
Pre-schoolers (ages 0 to 3) and their caregivers are invited to a fun music program at Hillhurst United Church.
Play instruments, meet new friends, learn basic music skills, and have fun! This is a no fee program offered by Hillhurst United Church to encourage community building and quality musical experiences.
This is an ongoing program that meets on Mondays at 10:30 am for 45 minutes.
