Whether you choose Hillhurst’s historic church building as your venue, have one of our ministers perform your ceremony, or both - we’d love to be part of your wedding day. Our lead minister, John, brings open-minded, spiritual, and relatable religion to your ceremony, while the sanctuary offers a stunning stain glass background. Do you perform same-gender marriages?
Absolutely. Hillhurst United is an Affirming Ministry. We welcome all LGBTQ2IA+ couples. However you identify, you are welcome and celebrated here.

Do I or my partner need to be a member of Hillhurst?
No, membership with Hillhurst is not required.

How much does a wedding cost at Hillhurst United Church?
Our base fee for weddings is $2000. A $750 deposit is due upon booking. The base fee includes a church minister, accompanist, wedding host, and sound technician.

Do you offer marriage preparation classes?
You bet. To find out when our next class is, check our events page, contact the church office at 403-283-1539, or email office@hillhurstunited.com.

Are you open to creative ceremonies?
Yes, definitely. We’d love to help you create a one-of-a-kind of ceremony.

Can we have an outdoor ceremony?
We’re flexible, and one of our ministers can perform your ceremony off-site. We’ll meet you where you’re at. The cost for an off-site wedding is $1000.00 plus mileage and travel expenses.

How many people can fit in your church?
We can accommodate groups of 5 to 250.

Can I have my reception at Hillhurst United Church?
Yes, reception space is available for an additional fee. The reception space is $300.00/hour plus additional hosting fees.

Can I serve alcohol at my reception? 
As long as you purchase a liquor license and additional insurance.
