Friends, we have been called. Called to be radically open. A living vision of progressive Christianity. Loud and playful. Quiet and contemplative. Serious about spirituality. We have been called. Called to Take Risk. To make a difference. To connect, transform and empower.

You likely heard Terry Rock, our Board Chair, speak about the inspired initiative - “Planning for Possibility” - and today we are ready to share the exciting next steps.

Phase 1: LOOKING IN - January to March (completed)
The Hillhurst Board of Directors and Leadership entered deep discussion about our foundation: Values, Purpose & Vision. They used the book "Good to Great" and last summer's work with Tom Bandy as inspiration.

Phase 2: SEEKING INPUT - April and May (where we are now)
We are looking for input from you, the Hillhurst congregation and community, on topics related to Hillhurst’s future growth.

There’s still time for you to get involved! This week join us for the following sessions:

Progressive Church Movement / HUC and UCC: Tuesday, May 10 - 7pm - Heritage Room
Affirming Ministry: Wednesday, May 11 - 7pm - Heritage Room
Music Ministry: Wednesday, May 11 - 7pm - Board Room
Open Space: Sunday, May 15 - 1pm  - various topics: worship, building, diversity, food

Please participate in our online survey - your voice matters!

Phase 3: EXPANDING OUT - First 3 weeks of June
The Hillhurst Board of Directors and Leadership will compile the information collected from the congregation and use it to to develop the generative plan with the intention of sharing it at the June 26 Congregational Meeting for adoption.

Thank you for making this dream possible. We are truly a blessed community.
