Over 100 years ago a community of faith built
Hillhurst United Church. Today, Hillhurst is a
seven-day-a-week church, alive with people
who are committed to living our shared values:
radical hospitality, spirituality and social justice,
all grounded in risk-taking.
Thank you for your financial gift to Hillhurst
United Church. Here are 3 easy ways you can give.
(1) Pre-authorized Easy Giving (PAR)
Using one of our "easy giving" options with pre-authorized
remittance (PAR) bank debit or credit card payment helps
the church plan its annual budget and allows you to
contribute to our good work in an easy, ongoing way.
100% of your donation goes directly to Hillhurst United Church.
You can annually select the gift that fits your budget, "set it and forget it."
Your gift counts even on Sundays you are away.
When the collection plate is passed, you can place an anonymous "PAR Card" in it, to show your support.
To discuss your PAR contributions call 403.283.1539 or email: email@example.com. Fill out the online PAR signup form here.
(2) Pick up the Tab
Have you ever so enjoyed a gathering of friends and
family at a local restaurant that you just gladly reached
across the table for the bill saying, "I'll get that"?
At Hillhurst United Church, there are many ways to "pick up the tab." Every time you pick up the tab, we are able to grow and strengthen our programs elsewhere. To see some "pick up the tab" ideas now, see our Giving brochure
If you're ready now to pick up the tab for a church ministry or activity, please click here now to donate online, or drop a cheque in the collection plate on Sunday, with a memo that reads, "I'll pick up the tab for ___________." To discuss your plans to pick up the tab, please call Anne Yates-Laberge at 403.283.1539 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
(3) Plan for the Future
Gifts to Hillhurst United Church can be a way of
remembering both joy and sorrow, marking a
milestone birthday or anniversary, or remembering
a loved one no longer with us. These one-time gifts are a way of "lifting up" a loved one with gratitude. Another gift option is to lift up Hillhurst United Church after you're gone. A bequest is a gift made in your will, but you can also leave gifts of life insurance, establish an endowment fund, and give gifts through your RRSP and RRIF. The easiest way to plan for such a gift is to get professional help from your financial advisor. To discuss your plans for the future, please call 403.283.1539 or email email@example.com.

United Church of Canada Giving Programs
Mission and Service Fund - Involved in our Global Community
The Mission and Service Fund is the only fund in which members and friends of the United Church of Canada pool their givings. Through the Mission and Service Fund that we collectively live our creed "to be the Church, to celebrate God's presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, and to seek justice and resist evil."
The Missing and Service Fund work includes ministry support, theological colleges, presbyteries and Conferences, core funding to 170 churches, chaplaincies, overseas personnel, global work, outreach work in Canada, justice and environmental advocacy, ecumenical partnership, partnership overseas, and the list goes on.
Also, each year emergency funds are allocated in the budget from the Mission and Service Fund for response to emergency needs which enables the United Church to respond rapidly when needs are critical. In addition to the Mission and Service Fund "emergencies" budget, we also regularly draw on United Church equity in the Canadian Foodgrains Bank to respond to critical food needs in other countries.
At Hillhurst have special services and events throughout the year where we promote the work of the Mission and Service Fund and provide opportunities to give financially. You can give to the Mission and ServiceFund anytime, directly through our church, online, or at our worship service.
