Congregational Care

Our congregational care team offers loving support for community members who are going through difficult times, such as:

  • grieving the death of a loved one

  • an injury or illness

  • isolation or loneliness

  • grieving the death of a pet

  • mental health challenges

  • hospital stays

  • unemployment

Our team of volunteers offers prayers, handmade prayer shawls, meal deliveries, visits, and phone calls. All of your prayer requests are held in confidence by our prayer team. See below for details on each of our offerings.

Prayer

On our prayer team, congregants gather together to pray for others. Send us a prayer request and our team will pray for you. This form is also how we learn about needs within our community and determine how we might offer support.

Prayer Shawls

Our Knit or Knot group lovingly knits or crochets prayer shawls. These shawls are given a blessing and offered to congregants with the hope that they will feel wrapped in God’s love.

Pet Loss Ministry

Pets play an important and sacred role in our lives; when they die, it can be devastating. This is why we set up a pet loss ministry. Our congregational care team is here to provide support if you are grieving the loss of a pet or facing the difficult decision of laying your pet to rest. If you are grieving a pet, let us know through the prayer request form below.

Who is our Congregational Care Team?

Our congregational care team is made up of many caring volunteers, including Congregational Care Lead, Robin Kidd. Congregational care is overseen by our ministry team, including Rev. John Pentland, Lead Minister. Anne Yates-Laberge, Executive Director, also works closely with Robin to identify needs and coordinate logistics. Thank you to the many volunteers and staff who contribute to supporting and caring for our congregants!
