The Journey Project
The Journey is a project of vision, a project of courage, a project which seeks to live out our church’s core values in a physical form. It is a project which is binding our spirit family together as we work towards leaving a legacy in the Hillhurst/Sunnyside community which is larger than ourselves. What started out as a question; “What if we could?”, is now becoming a reality as we endeavour to rebuild our Western Annex, the portion of the church property to the west of this historic portion of the building we are currently in. The ground level of the building will be church and community gathering space with the above floors providing 13 units of affordable housing.
A project of this magnitude requires a tremendous amount of effort, requires tenacity and passion of our church community as well as the many individuals who have stepped forward to share their time and leadership.
This project of radical hospitality will be part of Calgary’s Ten Year Plan To End Homelessness. We welcome individuals and families to financially contribute as well as share potential connections of those who would like to be part of this project of a lifetime.
Journey Update - February 2012
Your Journey Team is continuing its efforts to advance the Journey's goal of providing affordable housing for those in need as an expression of HUC's core values of Spirituality, Social Justice and Radical Hospitality, as well as providing much needed upgrades to our church and community infrastructure.
