KidSpace
Our KidSpace teaches children the art of using religious language - parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action - helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God’s presence in their lives.
Children ages 0-3 can remain with their parents in the service, or spend the entire service with our nurturing caregivers in the PLAY daycare.
Children ages 4-12 start in the Sanctuary with their parents. There is a Children's Time during the worship service, and then children are invited to attend age-appropriate Sunday School Classes with our experienced Sunday School teachers.
Our volunteers and paid staff are required to have recent police checks.
To register your child or teenager for KidSpace, print out this form, fill it out, and bring it with you. (Pre-registration is not necessary.)
Teachers
Kelley Warner
Kelley has been actively involved with children and youth within the United Church for over 10 years. She is presently in a pastoral care year as part of a Diaconal Ministry program.
Her interests are varied. On some days you will find her attempting hip-hop or salsa dancing, on another day painting or immersed in contemplative prayer. She has a passion for storytelling and social justice.
Kelley has a partner, Jeff, and four grown children.
Bridgett Sutherland
Bridgett is our wonderful KidSpace leader, caring for and teaching children from age 4 to grade 2.
She is a gentle soul with a warm heart who enjoys children's energy and laughter. She and her husband John enjoy raising their twins Arran and Zoie, and niece Tia. Bridgett worked for many years in a daycare, and is a happy person with a sunny smile.
Bethanie Tillett-Wair
Bethanie is in charge of our nursery (0-3 year olds). Bethanie and her husband Edward moved to Canada from Belize City, Central America. In Belize, Bethanie was a Sunday school teacher for 3-5 year olds.
She previously volunteered in the nursery where her calm and friendly presence was a gift to the littlest in our community of faith. Now, Bethanie works in the nursery as a staff leader.
