One of the great traditions at Hillhurst is embracing Radical Hospitality by welcoming all with piping hot pre-service coffee and tea, and a light lunch after church.

The Hospitality team works diligently to provide these two weekly celebrations for our church community. Our congregation is in the middle of a huge growth spurt and we are in need of more volunteers to support these two great causes. We need and welcome you to be part of us! 

Coffee

Be involved by volunteering to get the coffee perking on Sunday morning. Two people team up to make this task effortless and fun! The coffee schedule is made up several months in advance, so you can find a Sunday or two that works for you. Don’t worry about not knowing what to do. There are straightforward instructions to guide you through and we even offer training. Once you get one ‘coffee duty’ under your belt, it’s a snap!  You will definitely be appreciated as folks sip their first cup of morning java.

Sunday Lunches

Another rewarding volunteer position involves participating with Sunday lunches. We require 6-8  volunteers weekly in order to provide delicious food and kitchen support.

You can either collect a whole team of your pew mates or volunteer yourself and we’ll connect you with others to make up a team. This is also a great opportunity for a family with older children or teens to participate.  Remember: no experience necessary!

There are two different lunches you can volunteer for: 

1. Potluck lunch, which is held on the first Sunday of each month. Volunteer lunch teams are responsible for set up, receiving the food and clean up.
2. Hosts for the weekly post-church light lunch.  This requires food preparation, set up, serving (buffet style) and clean up.

You won’t be left out on the limb when it comes to not knowing what to do. Complete details are available as well as weekly, scheduled lunch advisors who can walk each team through the tasks involved both before and during the lunch.
